Pneumatic Presses - Guarding Small
This booklet illustrates a guarding method developed for a small pneumatic press used for riveting at a Wellington company. A ring guard is fitted, controlled by a small air cylinder. If the guard touches any part of the operator's hand, the small air piston does not complete its stroke and air is not admitted to the master cylinder which powers the press. Also illustrated are the guarding methods used on two other small pneumatic presses - one installed at the Department of Labour's Industrial Safety Centre, Wellington.
